P.K

Two weeks ago, I watched this highly recommended movie called P.K. It was such a thought-provoking movie, and was probably the best Bollywood movie I have seen this year. The message that this movie wants to convey, is delivered cleverly. This movie tells us that we were born into this world naked, without prejudices, or burden of religion. In this movie, PK is somehow lost in confusion as in so many Gods, God-men, rituals to follow, and he has now idea which one is right, which one to follow. It seems like people carry values which make them think that their religion is the right one than the other. Pk then decided to start doing all rituals that each religions have. But he comes to know that there is a ‘wrong number’. People created and worshiped the God that they created, not the God that created us all. People lost the meaning of life because of the burden of religion. I particularly love this one quote that says

worship God that created us all, not the God that we created.

We tend to justify one action and say that it’s God’s command, or His will. Have you ever thought that maybe some people do that certain things on purpose, either for their own good, or for some people’s interests.

PK also says that

Do not protect your God. He does not need your protection. He can protect Himself

There are still so many people in this world who dare to kill, torture people and do any kind of illegitimate things in the name of God. The reason is simple, they said. ” I want to protect my God”. I believe that in every religions teach us peace and to live in harmony, and none of them justify killings.

And talking about the star performances, hats off to Aamir Khan. He is undoubtedly one talented actor. He is known for his unusual character. And in this movie, he is able to portray the innocence and curiosity of P.K.

This movie is definitely worth the watch. I will give this movie 4.5 out of 5
